Eric Anderson

Eric is the owner and operator of Enviro-Clean, Inc, a company specializing in mold remediation and bio-hazard clean-up since 2001.  Enviro-Clean has successfully remediated over 2500 mold remediation projects and has worked extensively in water damage clean-up, drying and restoration as well as mold remediation after Hurricane Katrina and more recently Hurricanes Gustav and Ike.  Eric was  intimately involved with a 2-year case debunking the use of “heat” in mold remediation after attempting to use the process on a half dozen properties.  He has worked with Dr. Harriet Burge, Dr. Brian Blanchette, and Tom Hamilton, CIH to review, study and understand the pros and cons of “heat” in restoration (drying, mold remediation, pest control and other applications).  Eric is frequently called to give testimony as an expert witness on cause and origin, mold remediation costs and requirements, and scopes of work. Eric is the instructor for the Rhode Island Association of Realtors teaching a basic course on mold for the real estate professional.  He has lectured at major insurance companies and agencies, the New England Building Officials Association annual event, RI Builders, and has presented at numerous group symposia.

David Bearg

David Bearg holds a B.S. from Northeastern University in Chemical Engineering, and an M.S. from the Harvard School of Public Health in Environmental Health Sciences.  He is also a Registered Professional Engineer in Massachusetts and a Certified Industrial Hygienist.  

Mr. Bearg’s professional focus involves the achievement of healthy and productive indoor environments, typically achieved in conjunction with energy conservation.  As part of his work he has authored the text, "Indoor Air Quality and HVAC Systems", as well as contributed to several other texts and has had papers published in technical journals and has made presentations at numerous conferences. 

His avocation involves cultivating a self-sufficient lifestyle that includes extending the growing season with the use of a heat-storing greenhouse with automatic grey-water irrigation and the construction of moveable interior window insulation panels to reduce unnecessary heat loss in his home.  More about these efforts can be viewed at www.sagefarm.net.

Matt Fragala, MS, CIH

Matt Fragala is a senior scientist at Environmental Health and Engineering Inc. in Needham, Massachusetts. Mr. Fragala has served as a project manager and field team member for over 100 indoor environmental quality investigations. He has designed and implemented sampling programs for assessment of various indoor air quality parameters, including volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds, particulates, bacteria, and fungi. He also has extensive experience in the evaluation and management of building mechanical systems and is a specialist in designing remediation programs for environmental contaminants such as water damage, mold, and organic chemical products such as PCB materials. He has participated in national environmental studies in buildings, schools and residences sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Consumer Product Safety Commission. He has managed several multi-year projects in Boston’s Longwood medical community for such clients as Children’s Hospital, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, and Harvard Medical School. As a member of EH&E’s industrial hygiene division, Mr. Fragala has also developed health and safety programming for a number of biotechnology clients.  

Matt holds an undergraduate degree in Environmental Science and a masters degree in Environmental Health Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Eric Frohmberg

Eric Frohmberg is a toxicologist with the Maine Environmental and Occupational Health Program.  He is currently the Manager of the Maine Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program.  The Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program is a national CDC funded program that acts to prevent childhood lead poisoning and address the impacts of childhood lead poisoning once it has happened.  Eric also has extensive experience in risk communication, including development of materials, testing efforts with low literacy focus groups, and surveys to evaluate effectiveness of programs. 

David F. Gallup

Dave Gallup has a Bachelors of Science from the California Institute of Technology in Engineering and Applied Sciences, and a Masters from Stanford University in Mechanical Engineering.  He currently has 7 patents, and many years of experience in research and development management while at TRW North America.  At TRW, Dave received the TRW Chairman's Award for product innovation. Dave became President of Environmental Microbiology Laboratory, Inc. (as it was then known) in 1997; and Chairman in 2005.

Jesper Kruse

Jesper Kruse grew up in Denmark, where he earned a degree in Social Education from Jaegerpris Seminarium in 1996.  After moving to the U.S. in 1997, he started working in residential construction.  He started his own construction company in 2002, recently re-named "Maine Passive House."  Since 2006, Jesper has worked to create energy efficient, sustainable structures.  He is a certified Passive House Consultant through the passive House Institute in Urbana, IL.

Jeffrey May, M.A., CIAQP

Jeff May has eighteen years of experience investigating moisture, mold, and indoor air quality and paint failure problems in thousands of offices, schools and residential buildings.  He has collected and examined by microscopy over 25,000 air and dust samples.  He is a certified indoor air quality professional through the Association of Energy Engineers, and a frequent lecturer and teacher on indoor air, mold, and moisture problems.  He is the author of numerous publications, including My Office is Killing Me! The Sick Building Survival Guide; My House is Killing Me!  The Home Guide for Families with Allergies and Asthma; and the Mold Survival Guide for Your Home and Your Health.  Mr. May has a V.A. in Chemistry from Columbia University and an M.A. in Organic Chemistry from Harvard University..  He is a member of the American Chemical Society, the American Indoor Air Quality Council, the new England Chapter of the Industrial Hygiene Association, and the Pan-American Aerobiology Association.

Rick Meinking

Rick is a certified Building Analyst through the Building Performance Institute and a Certified Building Operator through the Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnership.  He serves as the Energy Efficiency Manager at Seventy-Five State Street.  In the past, ye has servedas the Maintenance Director for a large housing Management Company, as well as a Maintenance Director for a Maine School District.  As a Project Manager, he converted an 1820 building from an energy hog into a highly efficiency and sustainable building.  Rick has taught energy accounting at the National Facility management and Technology Conference and is an instructor for the Building Operator Certification Course.  

Tamas Peredy, M.D.

Tamas Peredy is a New England native who has completed training in Emergency Medicine and Medical Toxicology at the University of Connecticut. Dr. Peredy has worked as an Emergency Physician around New England and throughout Maine for the past fifteen years. He is also the Medical Director of the Northern New England Poison Center (www.nnepc.org) providing consultation for cases that are called into the 1-800-222-1222 hotline. In addition, Dr. Peredy provides bedside consultation at Maine Medical Center with an outpatient clinic planned in the coming months. Dr. Peredy's interest in Environmental Medicine stems from case experience working with state and local officials in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Connecticut on a variety of toxic exposures. As part of his Medical Director duties, Dr. Peredy provides Medical Toxicology professional educational outreach on a variety of topics including overdose management, hyperbaric medicine, substance abuse and mushroom poisoning.
